Must Visit Places In London – London is an epic city! Now, yes – I know I’m always biased (a Londoner), but our city is amazing. We have some great neighborhoods in London… I’m sure you’ll love it. Honestly, with their diversity, culture and history, you’ll find some great areas to explore on your London trip.

Anyway, before I go, I want to share some of the best neighborhoods in London that you should check out. It doesn’t matter if you’re visiting, visiting the city or coming from London.

Tourism In London

A famous place in London, Southbank is one of the best places to walk in London.

Stroll through the London Eye and follow the River Thames Promenade, stopping at all the joints of your choice.

Don’t forget to stop at the market stalls and eat all the food at the OXO Tower along historic Klink Street (famous for its historic jail). They usually take place on weekends and holidays around the National Arena.

On top of that, really, go to the National Theater – it has some of the best plays in London.

After arriving at King’s Cross Station, visit the Wellcome Collection to view the many interesting items collected by Sir Henry Wellcome over the years.

Then, walk to the German Gymnasium where they serve delicious food in one of the most beautiful restaurants in the area.

Then, if you’re feeling up to it, head to the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, a landmark in King’s Cross.

Just north of Oxford Street, Fitzrovia is King’s Cross and one of London’s best areas for food and museums.

Now the British Museum needs little introduction, but it is a treasure trove of artefacts to explore. The museum is completely free, so it gets very busy on weekends.

If you want to miss the crowds, first thing in the morning you can get up close and personal with the Rosetta Stone, mummies, and Greek artifacts that line the corridors.

After a day of exploring, head to Mac & Wild for some of London’s tastiest Scottish cuisine. They also make excellent Scotch Eggs, which are coincidentally made in London (Fortnum & Mason).

Considered one of the busiest and best places to visit in London, Covent Garden is on the best route (as London’s best neighborhoods) for almost every visitor.

After getting off at Covent Garden or Leicester Square, head down small lanes full of independent shops (like Benjamin Pollock’s toy store), designers and quirky boutiques selling anything you can imagine.

Next, go to the market itself and enter. Here you’ll find one of the only shops in the world dedicated to Moomin – it’s so cute! Oh, and don’t forget to book tickets to the Royal Opera House in the heart of Covent Garden.

If you’re feeling peckish, head to Oysterman’s for some of the best seafood in town.

Alternatively, head to Clos Maggiore for some delicious French fusion delights! Grab a table in the main atrium (it’s amazing).

So Peel and the Castle is one of the best areas in London that has really changed in the last 10 years.

Now, Peel and Castle is only 20 minutes from Borough Market or Big Ben; This makes it easy to get around by bus, tube or on foot.

Be sure to stop here at the Imperial War Museum (totally free) opposite Lambeth North tube station. Don’t forget to check out the section of the Berlin Wall just outside the steps of the museum!

Afterwards, head to Mercato Metropolitano for a delicious meal and delicious cocktails. On weekends, the market is filled with music and DJs. You can spend an afternoon here.

After those cocktails, head to the Southwark Playhouse, which recently moved into the area. You’ll find more fringe plays and an intimate space here than the National Theatre.

The City of London is actually one of the best areas in London where the financial district is concentrated.
