Recognizing the impact of COVID on the business community, the Victorian Government has recently increased the amount of the COVID Hardship Fund from $10,000 to $20,000 for all eligible SMEs, both operating and non-operating. This program makes it possible for several enterprises to now benefit from a financial discount that previously did not receive support.
How To Apply Small Business Covid Hardship Fund
The total grant amount was increased from $14,000 to $20,000 on September 4, 2021. Businesses that have already received funding through this program will receive an additional $6,000 automatically paid into their designated bank account.

Businesses must ensure that all relevant registrations are up to date before applying for funding from this scheme.
Businesses that received support from the Victorian Government’s COVID-19 support packages launched on or after 27 May 2021 are not eligible for support from this scheme.
Businesses that started receiving support before May 27, 2021 can apply for support in this program.
Applications can be submitted from Thursday, August 12, 2021 until the end of program funding or until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021, whichever comes first.

Before submitting your application, check that the details you have entered on the Australian Business Registration website are correct. Incorrect information may delay the evaluation of your application.
You must demonstrate a reduction in traffic of at least 70% for at least two consecutive weeks from 27 May 2021 as a direct result of the COVID-19 restrictions, comparable to a 2019 reference period. In 2019, please talk to us about alternative solutions.
Businesses should compare the best consecutive two-week trading period between May 27 and September 10, 2019, and the worst consecutive two-week trading period between May 27 and September 10, 2021.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced a massive $82 billion aid package for Canadians and businesses to deal with the global COVID-19 pandemic, including income support, wage subsidies and tax deferrals.
Together, the package represents more than three percent of Canada’s GDP. According to Trudeau, high spending and delayed federal revenues will not lead the country into recession, stressing that “prudential” decisions made over the past five years have put Canada on a strong economic footing in the face of the crisis.
“We will be able to ensure that our economy accelerates very quickly,” he said.

The purpose of the grant is to help Canadians pay rent and food, help businesses pay their salaries and bills, and stabilize the economy. Support could begin within weeks, Trudeau said.
“No matter who you are or what you do, this is the time to focus on your health and the health of your neighbors, not on losing your job, not on running out of money for things like food and medicine ” – He told.
Other measures include a GST credit for low-income Canadians and special support for the homeless and shelters that help people escape gender-based violence.
Trudeau said opposition political parties have a “genuine” desire to help Canadians and is confident the measures can quickly pass through parliament.
